Brief Answer:
Causes to sharp shooting pain in stomach...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

Your symptoms are indicative for acute illness, most probably a gastritis. It might be related to:
- viral infection
- any new food that you have been introduced
- if you have consumed too much alcohol prior to shooting pain started
- any heavy thing you might have been lifted

If you do not have symptoms of viral infection, or nausea/diarrhea, I advise to:
- eat often and small portions
- take OTC pain killers (acetaminophen)
- can start OTC antacids

If the pain won't subside or you might be having other problems, advise to go to ER for further evaluation.

Wish fast recovery! Do write me back if you have further queries!

With reference to this above question, the pain is in its fifth day and seems localized to the intestine area just below my stomach. I haven't ran any known fever. Could this be an ulcer?

Brief Answer:
Not related to ulcer...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Thank you for following up.

According to your reports, to my opinion, your pain is not related to ulcer. Instead, I think it might be related to viral infection (stomach bug) and other factors as mentioned above.

Your clinical presentation goes for an acute pathology and not for ulcer.
I highly recommend to follow the advice as given earlier. If no improvement within a week or two; should consult with GI specialist.

Wish you health!
