Question: I am 25 year old female. 8 months ago I had got severe stomach upset( vomiting, stomachache) till 6 months I was suffering from this problem. At night the pain used to erupt and continuous episodes of vomiting and stomachache used to be there till 1 or 2 days. 2 months ago I had a lump on right side of my neck. FNAC was done which showed mycobacterium positive. ESR levels were high. I was put on ATT drugs. It's been 2 months that I am taking ATT drugs. Now one week ago the lump has got cold abscess in it and doctor advised to aspirate. After aspiration it is not looking that big but yes it is there reduced in size. The fluid has been sent for tb culture test. I just want to know is the abscess a positive sign or negative? Am I healing or not? I have reduced 2 kgs of weight. I was 47 kgs which reduced to 45 kgs during treatment . Rest I don't have fever, chills or night sweats. I eat normal. How will I gain weight.? Please suggest. I work in a hospital where I can get this disease easily.

Brief Answer:
Abscess is a negative sign, continue with ATT

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Health Care Magic.
I share your concern
At this situation , I would request you to uplaod me all the reports so that I will be able to tell you more accurately.

Abscess formation is negative sign but you need not to worry, since you already have started ATT.
Here I would advise you to take Tab Ranitidine to Pantoprazole like antacids to avoid drug induced gastritis or acidity.

You need not to worry about weight you have lost, which can be regained by dietary modifications and regular exercise, or once you finish ATT course.

I would advise you to take plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, egg and meat products, milk and dairy products

You can take multivitamin and food supplements

Hope I could answer your question, Please feel free to ask for further clarification.

I will be happy to help you.
Best wishes
