What Causes Severe Torso Itching?

Question: I have had severe torso itching for about a month now. Now all of a sudden in the last three day if I eat anything I have extreme pain accross my upper abdomen, and it hurts. Please can you give me any ideal what's going on with my body? My back itches like crazy too!Why has it taken so long for an answer? Anything that would give me an ideal, on how to handle this. I don't want to speak bad of Dr's, but they just do not spend time with me. So I don't complain or bring up anything anymore unless, I'm scared. I'm scared, but can't get into see Dr., trying to get out of going to the hospital.

I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.

Looking at the symptoms and query, my opinion is as follows:

1. The abdominal pain could be secondary to gastritis, however the allergic manifestation or itching points towards a possible liver cause or allergic cause.

2. Do look into your previous three days diet and see if you are exposed to any new diet.

3. Do you have any signs of jaundice. It may also not be manifested.

To rule out. I require you to get tests done for blood eosinophil and serum bilirubin's tests.

Try taking proton pump inhibitors like omeprazole, it might reduce pain. Take an antihistamine like cetrizine for itching.
