What Causes Severe Vaginal Bleeding Post An Endometrial Ablation?
Question: Facing a decision...have had daily bleeding past 4 months, recently excessively heavy ( have lost 3 units bet.4/21 and 4/27). Dr did dnc on 4/27 and placed a Mirena IUD. Told me if heavy bleeding persisted to come back Friday or ER if weekend. Said if heavy bleeding came back, likey would need hysterectomy. Then called back to say colleague said to also consider endometrial ablation. Heavy bleeding has returned early this a.m. Since she said I was borderline transfusion, I will probably go to ER and they will contact OBGYN on call (not my reg gyn)...so what will they do...one of the above procedures or just stabilize? Had another abdominal and trans sono yesterday + biopsy out from 4/27 DNC. File is in Dr lounge so they will check that, but I haven't heard results on sono or biopsy. Thank you...
Brief Answer:
Ablation is better option
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns.
It is important to wait for biopsy report.
If biopsy is normal and not cancerous, ablation is better option than hysterectomy.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
