What Causes Severe Vomiting In A Child?

Question: Hello Doctor,

My baby is 1.4 years old and weight is about 11 kg. Today, early morning while sleeping, he vomit suddenly. we breastfed him but after few minutes he starts vomitting again. He is not having any fever.

I have given him syrup emeset 4ml. please advise what should we give to him as medicine and food.

Thanks for asking on Health care magic.

The child may have developed an acute episode of gastritis which has led to vomiting. Reset is right to be given, especially before meals. Also give him ORS (Oral rehydration solution) to make up for the lost water and salts. The episodes may continue for a couple of days before resolving. You need not worry.
