What Causes Sharp Chest Pain?
Question: I have sharp stinging pains in my chest - oftentimes after I eat - other times, not. I had my gallbladder out about 2 years ago so it can't be that - but it hits the middle of my back as well and my left shoulder and arm

1.Pain after consumption of food is - most possible in the case of ulcerative cause of stomach, its infection / inflammation ( stomach).
2. Next possible cause could be post operative CBD obstruction ( gall stones in the common bile duct - in your case), other causes - cardiac pathology , other intra abdominal causes.
3. In this case you need is get an Ultrasound abdomen pelvic - non invasive pain less procedure to rule out intra abdominal cause, An ECG - to rule out cardiac cause. Finally gastroscopy will help to find out the pathologies in oesophagus,stomach,duodenum. At the same time if any pathology noted - a biopsy can be taken at the same time.
4.Initially since you have not taken any medication you can consult your GP and get some Proton-pump inhibitors (PPIs), if does not help - then go through the above process.
5.Avoid spicy and junk food, have food in regular time gaps, avoid alcohol on empty stomach ( if you take). Good luck.
