What Causes Sharp Pain In Right Foot Between The Big Toe And Ankle?

Question: I've been experiencing sharp pin like pain on the top of my right foot that last for only about 10 seconds. This pain is about half way between the big toe and the ankle about in the same area of the vain. This has happened in the past couple of months a few times but for some reason I have experienced it a lot yesterday and today. I am a healthy 50 year old male and active but still about 20 pounds over weight.
Brief Answer:
It can be due to neuropathy
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that this pain can be due to neuropathy. In this there is pain due to nerve compression in spine or due to lack of B12. Before i advised you any further I would like to know little detail of the illness.
1.Are you a smoker or do you have Diabetes?
2.Do you have pain along with tingling or numbness or needle like sensation in foot?
3.Do you stand for long time or wear very tight foot wear?
Please send me answers of these questions. I will try my best to help you.
thanks

1. I am not a smoker and as far as I know I do not have Diabetes.
2. No other pain in any part of my body either before, during or after each episode.
3. Most of the time when I experience it is while I am sitting but not all the time. I do not like my shoes tied so most of the time they are very loose.
I do experience lower back pain but usually manage that by getting on an inversion table which really helps when I start to feel tightness. At this time my back does not seem to be an issue.
The pain is always in the same spot on the same foot and feels like 100 needles picking me at once.
Thanks for your time for looking into this for me.
