What Causes Sharp Pain In The Left Leg?
Radicular pain
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Sorry for the delay in my response.
Based on your description of the pain, the site involved and other associated symptoms you mentioned, I believe it to be radicular pain.
Radicular pain occurs in extremities due to compression of the nerve supplying them. Could be unilateral or bilateral. The nerve compression usually occurs at the spinal cord level. Most common cause of such compression are pressure on the nerve by defective intervertebral discs or due to defect in the spinal vertebrae.
The only and gold standard test to rule out above cause is Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the spine.
Do not wait more, as if it is due to compression this may worsen over time leading to weakness in the affected limb.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
