Question: Sharp stabbing at lower left of womb, very low down near ovary. Feels like a stab with something sharp but literally for about 2 seconds then disappears totally.
Brief Answer:
Can be due to many causes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The sudden intermittent stabbing pain that you have can be due to a urinary infection, ovarian cyst, urinary calculus or an intestinal colic. This mild pain can subside by taking an over the counter anti spasmodic. In case the pain increases or is persistent then do consult your gynecologist for a detailed examination and proper investigations.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.

Thank you,
I had the painful breasts as well, which you helped me out with last week, I thought it may be connected but probably not. I went to the GP last week who checked breast thoroughly and found nothing , no lumps at all, she thinks it may be all perimenopausal, discomfort down below may be the same thing. Not really painful more of an uncomfortable shooting pain that does not last. thanks for your time, I guess more aches and pains as getting older!!
regards XXXXXXX

Can be due to perimenopausal changes.

Yes. All these can be related to perimenopausal hormonal changes also. Since it is a short lasting discomfort it is not likely to be a serious issue.
