Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.
Hope your doctor has given you a growth chart. If she has just completed her 11 years, her height falls in 5th centile - on the shorter side ( but not too short). This means if there are 100 kids of same age are taken only 4 children will be shorter than her and rest will be taller.
Please share the parents height to see if her height is appropriate for genetic potential.
The usual tests we do are:
Complete blood count
Liver and kidney function tests
Electrolytes and calcium
X ray hand for bone age assessment
IGF1 and IGF BP3
Thyroid function tests. and
Clinical examination to look for any changes of puberty.
If she is not showing any signs of puberty ( breast development and sexual hair growth) and if all the above reports are normal, we can wait for 6 months to see how she is growing. It could be a delay in growth and puberty.
If reports are abnormal. We do a growth hormone stimulation test and if GH is low we will start on GH injections.
Hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further queries I will be happy to help you
