Question: I am taking effexor the generic brand is there a difference in generic and the natural brand?
I am having a hard time breathing and when I do certain things like walk up steps I have shortness of breath. I have been taking effexor for over a year.. I have a swelled uo feeling all the and did gain about 20 lbs on this medication. Is there any other drug maybe a newer drug that does not cause me to have these side effects..

Brief Answer:
A side effect of Effexor

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
Effexor is an antidepressant. Generics may not be as perfect as the original but does the job at a cheaper price. Weight gain is a side effect of Effexor and most antidepressants. Weight gain may be the cause of your breathlessnesson exertion.
If you would let me know the symptoms for which you are taking Effexor, I may be able to suggest some alternatives.
