What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Chest Pain With History Of Osteosarcoma?

default
Posted on Wed, 14 Sep 2016
Question: I'm a 65 year old female. I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the sacrum in November of 2013. I've went through chemo, proton beam therapy, radiation and more chemo. last chemo treatment was about a year ago. every 3 month scan has shown no metastasis or growth. I currently went to the ER with shortness of breath, feeling weak and chest pain. the ER doctor said my blood was clotting all over my body and my platelets and wbc was very low. I'm very confused and not sure if this is really bad and I just don't understand the results. does this mean I'm dying? the cancer is back? what could it be? bc they don't want to explain

Brief Answer:
You may have pulmonary embolism.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

You have history of osteosarcoma. Now you have shortness of breath and chest pain. Your blood is clotting so it can be disseminated intravascular coagulation or it can be embolism.

It is not cancer but it is very serious condition and it need urgent treatment.

Go for ct scan chest and coagulation profile. Then take treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you very good health.
