What Causes Shortness Of Breath, High BP And Dryness In Mouth?
I was placed in the hospital for a few days and was administered some drugs to relax me and allow me sleep. Two days after i arrived hospital, i began to have some headache so painful i would desribed i have never experienced before. About a week after, I was discharged from the hopsital with the haedache still there and a lot of noise in my ears
Few days later i realized each time I am in a elevator, driving or fly (which i do quite frequently) the noise level in my ear increases and in the end I would have higher level of headache and weakness all over my body particularly in the lower part of my legs. I still have these symptoms now but no longer aggravated when i drive, fly or in the elevator. I have bubbles coming out of my ear almost every 10 seconds with persistent headache. I am 37. Please help.
hypertension/ eustachian tube dysfunction
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having head-ache with ringing sensation in ears. I would like to ask you few more details.
Is there any nasal obstruction or postnasal drip (nasal secretions trickles back into throat) ?
Is your head-ache associated with dizziness or ear blockage ?
As per your clinical details, it appears to be hypertension or Eustachian tube dysfunction secondary to sinusitis.
I suggest you to to consult ent surgeon and get detailed ent examination (cold, allergy, sinusitis), regular monitoring of BP (high bp can cause head-ache, ringing in ears and weakness in legs). If necessary audiometry (to know the status of Eustachian tube (tube connecting the middle ear and nose) dysfunction. depending on the examination reports further treatment is required accordingly.
If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
I only had high BP once on the day arrived hospital which was said to due to the fact i was anxious on that day. This is because since then, my BP hs been normal averaging 120/70 ever since, sometimes lower. I have been monitoring this myself in addition to those done at the cinics/hospitals as part of vitals before seeing a doctor.
Yes the headache is associated with some kind of blockage, At least that is how I feel. It feels continuosly like when you have just landed in a plane the blockage gradually easing out. But this is has been continuos for close to a month with the headache feeling as if someone is pulling my air.
As per estucian tube dysfunction; what does this mean and what could have caused it? No blockage of nose or throat whatsoever. Initially i had XXXXXXX dizziness but that had since gone.
I have had all sorts of lab work and everything was normal save for platelets count which is said to beslighty low ( 126). As a result, i have done other test for infection such those that had to do with the liver, HIV, Hpyori, etc. they are all nomal.
The above is information and questions is for your review and comment/answers.
Finally, can i contact an ENT expert in this forum?
Thanks as i look forward to your response.
requires audiometry test.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Thanks for considering my answer and for your follow up.
Eustachian tube (connection between middle ear and nose) dysfunction occurs due to allergy, common cold, severe cough or sinus infections.
Air travel also causes head-ache and dizziness due to high altitude pressure changes in Eustachian tube and barometric changes in sinuses.
A such, blood tests always negative in Eustachian tube dysfunction. It can be diagnosed clinically, otoscopy and audiometry tests.
Kindly go ahead for the investigations and upload the reports, for farther discussion.
All the best.
Take care.
