What Causes Shortness Of Breath In A Person With Pacemaker?

Question: I have a pacemaker, here lately it seems like i get out of breath easy, what would cause this? Thank You

take ECG. consult cardiologist to asses about functioning of pacemaker. it may be other ailment which requires treatment.

I havent been having any problems, here lately when walking i get out of breath easy, i have a pace maker and have gad it 15 years. Thanks

Hi again

Symptoms are indicative of coronary artery disease and heart failure. You can have echocardiography in which functioning of heart can be watched. If there is coronary artery block it will affect cardiac muscle contraction,which means deficiancy of blood supply and result in breathlessness. That is why it was suggested to have checkup by cardiologist. Pace maker can take care of conduction problem. Since you are using pacemaker indicates there was conduction problem. It has a life,depends on battery life, so its functioning is to be checked. But it is more indicative of coronary artery problem.
