Hello!

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Usually,if you have a mild form of asthma ,it is highly likely to experience symptoms only in some occasions like early in the morning ,when exercising , when laughing out lout, in exposure to different triggers (allergens ) and are symptom-free for the rest of the time.
Usually the symptoms include occasional shortness of breath ,cough and wheeze.
The reason that you experience shortness of breath mostly in early morning is because in morning the effects of protective drugs (inhalers that prevent an allergic reaction of airways) wear off and the body is least able to prevent airway narrowing.
Shortness of breath and chronic cough that occur mostly at night or in the early morning are suggestive for asthma.

Another factor to be taken in consideration is acid reflux. The stomach acid moves up into esophagus and this is more evident at night due to body position. The acid can move up and get into respiratory tract causing symptoms similar to asthma like shortness of breath and cough at night.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubt to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.
