Posted on Mon, 29 May 2017
Question: I went to the doctor the other day complaining being real tired upset stomach. They did a number of tests EKG a ton of blood work urinalysis and a chest x ray.Everthing came back normal except the chest X ray. At this point they wanted to do a ct scan. I refused because I had a ct scan done 2 months ago and it came back with multifocal inflammatory.and multifocal bronchitis/pneumonia .No mediastinal adenopathy. No definite mass seen. My question should I had had another ct.I have never smoked in my life 68 years old. I have no symptoms except shortness of breath thick spit. This has been going on for years.

Brief Answer:
no need for chest CT

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking HealthcareMagic,

I have gone through your concern and I can understand your situation.

According to the history, you explain you are experiencing shortness of breath for a long time now.

I agree with the fact that you have not done the CT of the lungs because you have recently done it.

If your symptoms are chronic than no need for chest CT.

If you were my patient I would not recommend it again.

Take care and feel free to ask me again
