What Causes Shoulder Pain After Taking Ciprofloxacin?
Question: 3 weeks ago, I tested positive for the flu which then became bronchitis. In addition to taking Tamiflu, I also took Levofloxacin 500mg, 1 daily. After 10 days of that I took Ciprofloxacin 500mg twice a day.
Even though I have recovered from the flu and bronchitis, I have had horrific pain in my shoulders and upper arms. The pain keeps me awake or wakes me up. I have used topical salves and taken ibuprofen. My question is, what could be causing the shoulder pain when I know that it is not from an injury or fall. It just began as I was getting over the bronchitis.

Brief Answer:
Ciprofloxacin induced tendinitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi there
Thanks for the query
Ciprofloxacin is known to cause inflammation of the tension in the arm of the Biceps muscle.
This tendinitis causes the pain and discomfort in the arms and shoulders.
Apply warm compression to the affected regions. Perform physiotherapy to strengthen the arm and shoulder muscles.
Ibuprofen can be taken with caution to tide over the symptoms.
