Question: I am having frequent shoulder pain just below the neck at the right side. It happens more while working in my laptop, writing something , and gets acute when tensed. This has been there for more than 4 years. What can be done to avoid this?
Brief Answer:
Doesn't seem to be due to serious concern...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
As I understand you have occasional on and off discomfort on the right side of neck. As the pain follows occupation and work, perhaps they are related to your occasion and not from a serious organic complaint. However without a physical examination and routine investigations, the cause and its treatment cannot be documented.
I would recommend that you visit an orthopedic surgeon or physiotherapist for detailed evaluation when you are in pain.
In the meantime, I advice you to follow proper ergonomics at work. Take frequent breaks during work and practice mild to moderate exercise every day. You can also take pain medicines occasionally to ease of severe aches.
Hope this helps you. Let me know if you need clarifications.
Regards
