What Causes Single Red Bump At Scrotal Region?

default
Posted on Fri, 27 Jun 2014
Question: I have a single shiny red bump (not very raised) on the bottom of my scrotum. It isn't painful and doesn't itch. Could this be hpv wart?
I have attached three pics. I'm referring to the single red bump in the pics. Does it look like hpv wart?

Brief Answer:
No HPV; proliferation of the hair roots

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the single red bump at scrotal region.

The structures including the single red bump (which is practically imperceptible) are not related to wart or HPV or any other sexually transmitted infections.

Warts have thorn like projections or rough thorny structure which can not be missed. So do not worry about possibility of warts in any case. The other of the bumps are basically proliferation of the hair root which appears more prominently because of the thinnest skin at scrotal region.

Rest assured for any possible HPV infection.

Enjoy the day.

I hope these information will help you.
