Brief Answer:
An oral antiviral will lessen the severity and duration of the sores.

Detailed Answer:
It sounds as though your immune system has been mildly stressed, either by the sinus infection or the sinus infection came on as a result of your immune system being stressed.

Regardless of what came first, the Herpes virus that you may already have had, decided to come out on both your mouth and penis. Usually Herpes Simplex 1 causes cold sores/fever blisters on the mouth and Herpes Simplex 2 causes genital herpes - BUT, sometimes they can cause the other form too. So it is not clear which you have but either way, you may benefit from an oral (pill) antiviral medication. So see your doctor for treatment of the herpetic infections. The antiviral will make the symptoms less severe and last a shorter time.

I would encourage you to get lots of rest and good nutrition to help your immune system too. If you drink alcohol, decrease it, if you smoke tobacco consider quitting it; and a good multivitamin/multimineral might also be helpful.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.

the blisters are not painful and I've had rashes on my penis before, usually if I don't shower after working out, which is what I also didn't do last night, can it be a skin infection or is it related to the herpes virus?

Brief Answer:
Herpes is usually painful.

Detailed Answer:
Herpes Simplex viruses are usually painful. So it's possible that it isn't Herpes Simplex I or II.

Herpes Simplex usually causes a cluster of small blisters which, after a few days, weep clear fluid, crust over and heal. This goes for both the sores on the mouth (aka cold sore or fever blister) or on the genitals. So since you were describing both fever blister and blisters on the penis, I was thinking Herpes Simplex. Blisters on mouth and genitals usually means herpes. But it is possible that it is something else such as a fungal infection of the skin. Or some type of skin irritation from sweat/working out.

If you can, go in to a clinic or your dr. and have your skin lesions checked so a doctor can see them in person, and if the sores are active when you go in, they can be cultured to so you know what you are dealing with.
