What Causes Skin Growth That Covers Urethra?

default
Posted on Mon, 22 Jun 2015
Question: I have a skin growth that covers my urethra. Tissue colour normal/healthy. However, constant burning pain/itching at urethra opening and deeper pain/ache further up to either side. Slight burning on urination. Immediate burning after eating acidic foods. GP did vaginal swab, no infection. Pain condition started approx one month ago. Coincides with week of increased sexual activity, two partners. Avoided all contact, all irritants for past 10 days, have bicarb soda baths, still no relief. Responds slightly to topical analgesic. Dr can find no cause after two examinations, suggested see gynocologist re skin growth removal.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to acidic urine.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The skin growth that covers the urethra is not likely to cause the burning that you are having. Feeling pain while passing the urine might be due to more acidic nature of the urine or local inflammation like vulvovaginitis.
To prevent this, have more and more fluids per day.
Avoid acidic fruit juices like lime juice, orange juice, etc.
Plenty of cranberry juice will help in reducing the symptoms.
Examine the external genital area carefully for any injury and rashes.
If the symptoms do not improve you can get an ultrasound scan done to rule out any possibility of renal or ureteric calculus.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
