What Causes Skipped Heart Beats And Epigastric Pain?
Question: Thankyou.
I am a 58yo male 69kg 177cm BMI 22. I run several times per week on an athletics track for competition purposes. Recently I have commenced heavy manual lifting (concrete stumps), and have noticed my cardiac rhythm is skipping beats in a random manner. I notice midline epigastric discomfort when pressing firmly under my ribs. I also suffer from Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy, unmedicated. The urge to void can only be stopped by increasing intra-abdominal pressure, by contracting my abdominal muscles. It has been confirmed that I have ventricular ectopic beats. I also notice a strong midline pulsating heartbeat which seems unusual. Any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Epigastric effects are related to ectopics
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir
I can certainly understand your concern.
I have worked through your query in detail and attached images in detail.
You possibly seem to have ventricular ectopics.
The midline pulsations are directly related to the effects of ectopics.
It's important that you an Echocardiogram at the earliest to identify it's effects on the heart.
BPH requires reassessment and medications if necessary.
It's important to stop vigorous exercise at the moment.
Consultation with an expert Cardiologist will help.
Post your further questions if any.
Thank you.
