What Causes Skipped Heart Beats With Persistent Burping And Belching?

default
Posted on Mon, 4 Jan 2016
Question: I have been having what seem like skipped heart beats. They are temporarily relieved by burping.

I had a normal ekg this morning, but the burping and skipped heart beats and belching are continuing.

I have no other symptoms although I am anxious. I take omeprazole in the mornings.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
may need to consider a holter

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

The ECG can be normal if the heart rate and rhythm at the time of the test is normal.

You may want to consider a holter test.

This is essentially a 24 hour ECG and can be done if the ECG shows no abnormalities and the person is still having symptoms.

It stays on for at least 24 hours (in some cases longer) while you go about your normal activities and monitors the heart rate and rhythm.

It would pick up if there are any problems.

You can consider speaking to your doctor about this option

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
