Brief Answer:
Avoid stimulants before sleep. Get exercise. Avoid stress

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Zolpidem is a very good medicine and should help you to sleep well. But since you do not seem to get a good sleep over the last few days, the things I would suggest are:
* Try to relax. Use deep breathing exercises. Avoid stress.
* Get free hand exercise and morning walk on daily basis.
* Take small but frequent meals. Keep the dinner light. Take a walk after dinner.
* Avoid taking too much water after dinner. Avoid coffee or other stimulants before sleep.
* Go to bed early
* You may talk to your doctor about an alternative medicine that could help you to sleep better (these are prescription medicines and need to be written by your doctor).
