What Causes Slight Painful Cramping In The Right Abdomen, Breathlessness And Nausea?
Question: HI, I woke up this morning with slight pain/cramping in the upper right abdomen, I now feel tired, slightly short of breath have nausea etc. I am also 6 days late on my period however a home test showed it was negative. Not sure what this all can be.
Brief Answer:
Could be PMS / a flu.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Since the pregnancy test is negative, do not worry.
These could all be pre menstrual symptoms, suggesting that a period is near.
Again, it could me a mild flu, and that can also cause a delayed period.
Just rest, take a painkiller / antispasmodic .
Generally do you have regular cycles ?
When was your last period ?
When did you last have unprotected sex ?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Get an GYN evaluation and thyroid check
Detailed Answer:
SO the test is quite reliable, you have not taken it early.
THis could be a mild hormonal imbalance, leading to the symptoms and the delayed cycle.
Conditions like stress, anxiety, travelling, late nights, erratic eating, exercise, weight changes, smoking - all can cause this.
Please consult a gynecologist for an internal exam and pelvic ultrasound scan.
This will reassure you, and then you can take progesterone pills to jumpstart your cycle.
Get your thyroid levels checked too, as it can cause similar symptoms.
