What Causes Small Nodules In Lungs After Gall Bladder Removal?
Question: hello i am a 59 year old male 2 and a half years ago they di a cat scan on my abdomen and found i had gall stones in which they took my gall bladder out . since then i was having gas problems and diahrea so i went back to the doctors and had another cat scan and scope done about 6 months ago. Everything came back normal except the scan showed 2 small nodules 3mm and 9 mm . the doctor referred m,e to a lung specialist in which he told me he was going to monitor them with scans . so i went for another scan 10 days ago and the results were that there was no change . my question is should i be worried about the 2 nodules and the 5 scans that ive had in 2 years

Detailed Answer:
thanks for the query,
I would not worry about having had 5 scans in 2 years as we are really trying to make sure we are not missing anything.
At this time it appears these nodules are small and stable. a biopsy of anything under 10-15 mm is difficult and often times inadequate or non diagnostic biopsy attempts can become frustrating.
I think it's reasonable to follow close and repeat a scan in 6 months. if there is a change in size then you can talk with your doctor about what to do.
I can understand that this is frustrating and anxiety provoking but I am sure that your doctors will take good care of you.
