What Causes Small Sores At Corners Of Lip Post Oral Sex?

default
Posted on Mon, 29 Dec 2014
Question: I had an incident of passionate kissing that lasted for 30 minutes or more, and then that was oral sex performed by me on her. Next morning I find a small sore develop towards the left upper corner of my lip and also another very small sore on the lower lip, just below the previous sore. Today, it is 4th day - the upper sore has become large and I can see it may erupt anytime while the second sore never changed its size. All this while I have a tingling sensation on my lips, it feels like lips are dry so I keep applying moisturizer. What might I have contracted?

Brief Answer:
Likely folliculitis not herpes

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
I have gone through two photos sent.

It is more likely to be folliculitis probably due to hair follicle infection.
Friction due to kissing after close shave has probably ignited the infection.

You can continue with topical antibiotic like mupirocin. Oral analgesic like brufen also would help.
You can consult your doctor if does not subside. Oral antibiotic may be needed.

You can get back for any clarification.
Thank you
Dr Bharatesh Basti
