Hi,
1. Pain is less . Its just a discomfort. Little pain especially when the grip used is not soft.
2. Size is less . Consistency is throughout for swelling and pain only at time of playing.
3. No trigger
Well the discomfort is minor and had it been for a few weeks i could have easily ignored it. Since its prolonged i was wondering if i can apply any cream to reduce the swelling and discomfort while playing.

Brief Answer:
It can be a nodule arising from tendon
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I think it is a nodule arising from tendon of finger due to continue pressure. There is no such cream which can be applied over it.
As You are saying it is not causing much discomfort, so you can just observe it. If in future it increases in size, or you developed pain and trigger like sensation in finger, then you can get a steroid injection in nodule.
I hope this answer will help you. Let me know if you want to ask any other questions. Thanks and take care.
