What Causes Small White Line And Feeling Of Scratch On Roof Of Mouth?
Question: Hi! For last three months or so I am feeling a small scratch like feeling on the roof of my mouth. Sometimes I hardly feel any scratch and on the other time its bit prominent. When I saw my mouth with a torch, a very small whitish line (1mm) was visible. There is no pain or itchyness. I went to a dentist, but, she was not able to notice that white line. I applied kenakort oinment for 4 weeks, took 1 month course of vitamin B, B Complex, E tablets but, that small scratch like feeling is still there when I run my toungue over that.

Read your query , understand your concern as you have small white line and feel of scratch on roof of mouth ( palate ) there is nothing to be worried it can be due to your previous habit of smoking there can be thermally / chemically induced keratosis , this is common mucosal change .
For this you should first completely quit smoking habit. It was observed that after cessation of smoking mucosal changes reverse normal .
Second maintain good oral hygiene. Practice proper brushing twice daily. Use regular mouthwash.
You can apply ointment like Triamcinolone acetonide buccal paste and can take Vitamin A supplements with antioxidant for one month .
Do XXXXXXX warm saline gargles two to three times a day .
