What Causes Sneezing After Migranal Nasal Spray?
Question: Each time I used migranal nasal spray (twice) it made me sneeze terribly and I tried to hold them in and I got really congested and it didn't take my migraine pain away. Does that mean I could be allergic to ergotamine? I have a post viral syndrome that is causing me to be extremely sensitive to medications and it's my CNS that's sending messed up signals - we think. To give you an idea of how sensitive I have nothing to take for nausea and vomiting - phenergan at 12.5 mg (I weigh 175 thanks to prednisone) gave me tardive dyskensia. The triptans for the migraines just made me sleepy and I woke up with the same headache. So we just now switched me to migranal. My throat hurts after I used it and chest was tight but as soon as I sprayed the first sorays in each nostrils both times I used it I sneezed a lot!

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Sneezing after migranal nasal spray is common and it might not be due to sensitivity to the drug, it could be just mucosal irritation to the spray.
In order to help you better I would like to know a few more details
1. How many times do you get headaches in a given week?
2. What medications have you tried for this?
3. How long have you taken Predinosolone, why? and at what dose?
4. Please mention all the medications you are currently on.
5. Has a CT brain been done for the headache? What is the report?
Please get back to me, I am awaiting your reply
Regards
