What Causes Sore And Extremely Sensitive Feeling In Vaginal Area?

default
Posted on Mon, 26 Oct 2015
Question: I woke up this morning and my vaginal area is very tender, I can't determine if it's a burning sensation, stinging or bruised feeling. I haven't been able to wear my undewear and its excruiating to walk. I haven't had sex in over 24 hours with my long term partner and we used a lube we've used many times before. I wear loose fitting underwear as I have been prone to thrush in the past and these symptoms are very different to those I've had for thrush. What can I do for relief / treat the problem?

Brief Answer:
It may be a vulvodinia

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query.

I understand your health issue and I will try to help you .
As you describe ,from the symptoms you have it seems to be a vulvodinia or vaginal pain .
There are no knowing reasons, but women who have had yeast infection in the past are more predisposed to have vulvodinia .

There isn't any specific treatment but try to follow -up these advice:
1. Rinse the area with cool water, particularly after urination and sexual activity
2. Soak in cool or warm sitz baths
3. Use topical ice packs wrapped in a towel or Heating pad use, in contrast, may help you
4.Keep the vulvar area dry and clean
5.Avoiding food that can make the urine more irritating to the skin of the genital area. These foods include beans, berries, nuts, and chocolate
6.Use topical medications, such as lidocaine ointment (a local anesthetic)

If all tips you will follow will not give good effects than contact with a gynecologist for a proper examination.

All the best and fast recovery
