Question: I am very sore in my bottom area, sitting is difficult, started about 3 days ago, no problem using the bathroom. My urine flow is more like morse code than a firehose, wondering if I have a prostate infection

Brief Answer:
Prostate gland obstruction and UTI(urinary infection) likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i can fully understand your concern.
Being sore at the bottom, needs some clarification.
Do you mean the genitalia or buttocks.
At your age, prostate gland enlargement is a common cause.
That could be the cause for the poor stream also.
You need to have an examination by an Urologist.
You should get your urine routine and culture tests and blood sugar, creatinine, PSA, and an ultrasound scan of the abdomen, with residual urine measurement.
Have a flow rate test done.
According to reports, the Urologist will be to advise the proper treatment.
You may also send a copy of the reports here, if you have any doubts, along with medication being taken, if any.
Wish you well.
