What Causes Sore Throat After Oral Sex?

default
Posted on Mon, 22 Sep 2014
Question: So about a week ago i performed oral sex to this guy. And about a week later later i woke up with a sore throat and white stuff on my tonsils . I was really freaked out so i went to the doctor. He checked me out and ruled it out as phelmingitious . After he told me i told him what had happened and worried its a possible std. So he gave me a culture just in case and i have to wait a week for the results and im really paranoid . My sore throat went away but the white stuff is still there. And im really parianoid .

Brief Answer:
Suspected viral pharyngitis attack

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
If your sore throat resolved without antibiotics then you might have had an attack of viral pharyngitis, this situation often resolves by itself after a certain time frame.

The white stuff on tonsils might be an immune reaction to the viral pharyngitis. It is the body fighting the infection in your throat.

In the background of an oral sex incident a week ago, it is always better to do a culture and know if there is any mixed bacterial infection.

Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.

been having this little tiny redness on my bottom lip (and it's only on my lip ) it's on one side on the bottom and it's a shade darker then my normal lip color. There's no bump and no pain. I did make out with this guy but that was 2 weeks ago and it's still there . Any ideas ?

Brief Answer:
Possibility of herpes and HPV infections

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

Redness in lips after giving oral sex might be due to a sexually transmitted infection like Herpes or Human papilloma virus. These are highly infective conditions and can easily be passed on during oral sex. Please notice any further changes in appearance or pain in your lower lip and consult a doctor for tests.

Hope your query is answered.

Brief Answer:
Please observe for changes or new spots

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

The skin over lips is very sensitive and can get irritated by a scruffy beard. It can be due to sucking a bit hard on the lips (perhaps during oral sex). However persistent red spots which change to blisters or appear in new spots must be assessed for an infection.
