What Causes Sore Throat After Oral Sex?

I am married and my wife and I perform oral sex regularly. I have noticed that whenever i give my wife oral sex I get a sore throat that usually disappears in a few days. However this time 5 days after performing oral sex on my wife I have ended up with a very bad sore throat. One lymph node under the Jaw on the right also swollen.
My doctor prescribed me Flagyll 400, Augmentin 625 Duo, Acemez P and an antacid for 10 days. After this course i felt I was 95% better. The lymph node swelling was nearly gone too however the sore throat came back after 7 days of ending my dose.
The doctor has advised a throat culture swab, neck MRI and scan. I have heard that gonorreah can cause this. Could this be Throat Gonorreah? Also, will the standard throat swab will pick this up or do I have to ask for a gonorreah swab specifically?
I would advice you standard throat swab
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query , reviewed your medications and understand your concern.
If I were your treating doctor, I would advice you
standard throat swab , it will pick sore throat causing organism including gonorrhea.
For swollen lymph node Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) will give you definite diagnosis.
If you & your wife having joint pain , urinary track infection & Rectal infection , itching then there is more possibility of Gonorrhea . Also if your wife having Vaginal discharge , painful intercourse , lower abdomen pain then possibility of Gonorrhea increases.
I would also advice your wife vaginal smear to known any infection or carrier state .
Avoid oral sex till diagnosis confirm or use preventive Antiseptic chlorhexidine Mouth Wash after oral sex.
Hope this information helpful to you .If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.

I would like to add a few points and would like your feedback.
1. We have been married for 4 years and have both been absolutely faithful since marriage. Unless the Gonorrhoea has actually been dormant i dont understand how that could be the case...
2. My wife started getting joint pains and swelling in her fingers 7 months ago and that has been spreading. She is diagnosed by Psoratic Arthritis and is on Methotrexate treatment. Could this be an incorrect diagnosis?
3. My wife has said she has got some Viaginal discharge before periods
Your wife more likely have Psoratic Arthritis.
