What Causes Sore Throat And Fever?
Question: My adolescent son has a sore throat, he had fever for the past 2 days but now it's gone but the sore throat persist. What can I give him?

Most of the times , sore throat is due to a viral infection and needs no treatment.
His fever has gone , so it is likely that the infection is resolving , hence we can avoid unnecessary medications.
Please ask him to gargle with warm salt water 2-3 times a day and avoid spicy and cold food , it will help
He can take paracetamol 500 mg for the pain, if it is too much , otherwise he needs no other medications.
