What Causes Soreness Around Diaphragm Area With Normal CT Scan?
Question: I have soreness around the diaphragm area, x-rays and CT scans show nothing however I had esophagus cancer and they had to pull a portion of my stomach through the diaphragm "pull through'. The surgery was seven years ago and last months CT showed no cancer or any other issues.. The discomfort is getting worse and exercise makes it difficult to breath.
Brief Answer:
Gastroscopy should be done.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Such symptoms can be caused by acid reflux issue or some inflammation in the junction area. Cancer recurrence should be always suspected. CT is not good enough to see the junction and stomach condition. That is why gastroscopy is strongly recommended.
Please consult your doctor and have this test done.
In a meanwhile please avoid any fatty foods, spicy foods, coffee, alcohol, orange juices and chocolate.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
