What Causes Soreness Of Quadriceps With Pain?

default
Posted on Sat, 6 Dec 2014
Question: For the past two days, both of my quadriceps have been sore--as if I had done something to strain them both. I have not. I have done nothing out of the ordinary at all. I would describe the muscle pain as moderate. It hurts only when I'm moving around, or when I poke the muscles, and especially when I'm going up and down stairs or standing up from a seated position. There are no rashes, red areas, warm areas. My health is generally very good.

Brief Answer:
Tendinitis or muscle strain can be possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking Health caremagic forum
I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely due to tendinitis or muscle strain. It can be due to some hard activities you have done which you don't remember or due to movement in sleep.
In such case i advise NSAIDs like aceclofenac orally and anti inflammatory gels like diclofenac with capsaicin for local application. If pain is more then a short course muscle relaxant like thiocolchicoside will be helpful. You should also take milk and milk products to maintain your normal calcium level. If all these not helping then an orthopedic examination should be carried out and vitamin D level of blood should be checked also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks
