What Causes Sounds In Stomach?
Question: I'm 67, female, and in good health. Last night my stomach started making noises when I went to bed. It does make noise occasionally, but this went on forever and I couldn't get to sleep. I thought I was getting sick, but I didn't. I have a lot of anxiety about a lot of things, and now I'm really worried about this. Please let me know if this is serious. I'm scared! Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
If this was just strange sound without some other symptoms such as vomiting, blood in stool or pain in stomach, then this is absolutely normal and stomach sometimes react with such sounds depending on type of food and body position. If there was heartburn associated then there could be some gastritis or gerd which are very common conditions and not serious at all. You just need to avoid some food such as coffee, alcohol, spicy food, fried food and high fat food. Try to drink menta tea next time or take probiotic. Anxiety will always aggravate digestion problem so you should work on it too.wish you good health. Regards

I had no vomiting or anything else that you mentioned. I was so concerned about these noises. They are continuing today, although not as bad as last night. Would the sounds be worse when lying on my back? I have never been bothered like this before, and was worried. I fell about 4 days ago on cement and sprained my ankle really bad. I had it xrayed, and it wasn't broken. Could the fall have caused something wrong in my stomach? I didn't fall on my stomach at all. I caught myself with my arm. But could the sudden jolt have had some impact? That's my major concern right now. I can't imagine that it would affect anything in my stomach. Is that correct? Please let me know. My anxieties have taken over, and I'm worried about that. Thank you so much.

Detailed Answer:
Such falls couldnt cause any issues with stomach so this is not reason of it. I dont see serious condition at this point. This is most probably related to stress and emotional condition and diet. You should not focus on it, stomach and bowe sounds are normal for every man. This is not sign of disease. You can take spasmex or antiacid medicines which could halp to supress stomach movements and these sounds but if there is no pain then this is not neccessary.
