Brief Answer:
Could be acid reflux disease

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir!

Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I understand your concern. The sour taste is occuring when stomach contents reflux back up into the esophagus and reach the back of the throat. This could be due to a condition known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

You should try taking esmoprazole or omeprazole 40mg OTC .This will help decreasing the acid production thus decreasing the sour taste.

Please eat small meals 3-4 time a day, instead of big heavy meals.Try to avoid more tea or coffee, smoking or alchol. These things will aggravate your symptoms.Sit straight for half an hour after every meal.

Hope this helps.Feel free to ask more.

It was a stomach bug causing this, after a hospital visit. Other than Prilosec, do you suggest any other remedy that can speed up healing

Brief Answer:
H.pylori kit

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir!

Thank you so much for writing back!

If it was a stomach bug namely Helicobacter pylori diagnosed as the cause of your acidity, then other than prilosec you should be treated with an H.pylori kit.

This kit contains specific antitbiotics which is required to kill this germ and speeden your recovery. Also avoid taken much caffeine, alcholo and smoking as mentioned earlier.

Hope this helps. If you have no further queries, please rate this answer and close this discussion.
Wishing you good health!
