What Causes Spasms In The Lower Chest Area And Above The Navel?
Question: my husband went to an emergency room yesterday at 4pm. He had symptomsof heart trouble, but that checked out OK. He had severe spasm-like pains in the low chest area..going down the middle and also horizontal above the navel. They could not diagnose anything, after CT, chest X-ray, CBC, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, and more...after a series of excruciating pains he was given 4 mg of morphine, which calmed him down, and sent home. Told to make an appt. with primary doctor and take omeprazole 49 mg for 14 days. He hasn't eaten since 1 p.m yesterday, it is now 11:30 A.M. He is sleeping most of the time, achy, sore muscles, back ache. What is your opinion? He is 80 yrs. old and has been active with lawn work. Two pre-stroke episodes a couple of years ago. Usually in good health.
