What Causes Spinning Sensation While Getting Up From Lying Down Position?

Question: i m feeling reeling of head and spinning movement mainly when i lie down and getting up from lying down position.i measured the bp it is 130/80. i am on regular medicine tab stamlo 5mg daily for last one year.. this spinning movement persists for last 3 days..i went to gp yesterday , he gave vertin 16 mg 3 times daily. i was comfortable in the morning but again feeling the spin movement fron evening.. kindly tell me is there any thing serious?

Benign persistent positional vertigo

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
Your history is suggestive of Benign Persistent Positional vertigo (BPPV).
You BP is well controlled and that's not the reason for this vertigo.
BPPV is due to disturbances in balancing apparatus of our body known as Labyrthyine apparatus.
You shall carry on with Vertin.
I personally prefer to add up Cinnarizine 75 mg once daily at bed time in such Cases and get very good results in 5-7 days.
I don't find any reason to worry in the case described by you.

sir before recieving the mail, i went to my gp again. now he give stugeron 25mg 3 tab daily for 10 days along with vertin.. sir is it become very high dose for me?

I also mentioned the same drug. Sturgeon is cinnarizine only.
So you may start with it and write back to me after 3 days with the response.
Don't worry it's not the heavy dose.
