Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Blood in sputum is known as hemoptysis.
And following are the possible common causes for hemoptysis.
1. Bronchitis
2. Tuberculosis
3. Pneumonia
4. Lung cancer.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system.
2. Chest x ray.
3. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed to rule out Infections and cancer.
PFT is needed to rule out bronchitis.

Since it is bright red blood I wasn't to concerned at first but after some internet surfing I became concerned. I usually try and determine things myself before I contact Medical people (lots of surfing) can result positive and negative info.
Mayo Clinic (symptom checker) gave me a positive feeling because I had no matching symptoms, overall some concern.
I have never smoked at all
Thank you Doctor Bhavsar
Thanks again

Hello dear, thanks for your follow up question on HCM.
Bright red blood with mucus is suggestive of either upper airway pathology or lower airway pathology.
This has to have some underlying disease.
So you should definitely undergo workup for this.
And chest x ray is basic workup to rule out most of the causes for hemoptysis.
You might be having initial stage of the disease and hemoptysis can be the early symptom.
So my advice for you is to get done at least
1. Chest x ray
2. Pulmonologist 's consultation.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
