What Causes Sporadic Pain In Left Breast?
Question: I have pain in my left breast periodically. I had it when I had my mammogram and now it's back. They could find no reason for the pain. Why does it recur?

I read your question and i understand your concern. Breast pain is not always involving breast and could be referred. if mammogram is normal, get an ultrasound of breast for more surety and if that is normal too then it is not breast causing pain.
Pain in breast area could be due to many causes like gastric discomfort, acid reflux, cardiac symptoms like angina or any other heart problem. diet related specially caffeine, bony pain like costochondritis, fibromyalgia etc.
Nutshell it needs a little work up and clinical correlation to sort out the differentials for the pain. At age of 63 i seriously doubt it to be secondary to breast with mammography normal.
