What Causes Spotting In Women With History Of Hysterectomy?
Question: Yes. I have a stain on my panties during the day/night. It is a brownish color. I can't tell if it is blood or a discharge. I have diabetes, afib. I have had lots of UTI's, yeast infections in my past. My doctor has me on a low dose antibiotic year round. What do you think this could be?
Brief Answer:
Needs examination to find source
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
I have read you query and I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply:
1) This brown stain is likely to be blood spot mixed with mucous.
2) This needs to be evaluated as to where is it coming from ?
3) Please get examined by your gynecologist to check if it from vagina, cervix or uterus which will help me to advice further. I request you to see the gynecologist as some of those cause are concerning and needs attention.
I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.

You didn't answer the question about having a pap smear. I have had a hys (can't) spell. But I still have my ovaries. Please let me know as soon as possible as I am getting a gyno appt. asap with the same doctor that he says after a woman is 65 she no longer needs a pap smear. He has been my doctor for years.
Also, I take Xarelto for my afib and this drug has been known (as i know you are sure) to cause internal bleeding. This situation concerns me. Please answer soon.
Thank you for prompt answer.

Brief Answer:
Pap smear not required
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Your gyne is right. Since you are 65, you dont need pap smear any longer.
Ovarian cancer is not possible as ovarian cancer does not present as spotting like this.
Xarelto might cause bleeding in internal organs ( rarely) but not known to cause spotting from genital organs like this.
Hence you need to be examined to conclude source of bleeding and an ultrasound if necessary to check source of bleeding.
