What Causes Spotting Post Intercourse In A 40 Year Old Woman?
Question: I am a 40 year old female who has not had sex since 2 weeks before my daughter was born. She is over 7 now. I recently (a little over a week ago) started having sex again after over 7 years. He is much lengthier than the man who I was married to for 10 years was, and I always feel him hit my cervix. We have had sex a total of 4 times. 1st time, minimal spotting. And that was gone by next night, 2nd time, the same. The 3rd time, and 4th (both on same night ) was different. I am having more than just a little bit of spotting. This time I bled on the sheets, and the next 2 days it was more than just a little spotting.I would still call it spotting but it is heavier spotting, not like having a menstrual cycle, way less than that, but more than the small amount of spotting the first 2 times we had sex. I haven't had sex since that time , which was 3 days ago. I am still spotting but much less. I am free and clear of any STDs and we used condoms every time. I have a tilted cervix??? I was told something along those lines many years ago, not sure if that has to do with it. Could him being so lengthy be what is causing this bleeding?
Brief Answer:
Cervical examination advised
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic. I understand your problem but in my opinion this is due to some lesion on cervix or vagina and not due to tilted cervix.
How are you so sure that you are free of STDs? And when was the last time you had internal vaginal examination and visual inspection of cervix and vagina?
Waiting for your response.

I was tested for STDs(at my request) when I found out I was pregnant and then again after I gave birth because I had sex with me then husband 2 weeks before giving birth. Since giving birth I have had ZERO sex or anything sex related, not even kissing for over 7 years. this has been the first person I have been with since before she was born all those years ago. I get my pap and exam every year and they always have done a visual inspection while there for my yearly. I am due for my next yearly on Thursday and have the appointment made, just hoping to see if I could get a opinion before then so I don't freak out for the next 2 and a half days. If a lesion, what would that be caused by? Or could it be literally just his size and hitting the cervix? Is it possible to tear your cervix?
Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry about
Detailed Answer:
No dear, it is highly unlikely that his length is causing this problem.
Most likely it is a cervical erosion which is common in your age group as this the peri menopausal transition phase and thus most likely nothing to worry and just a simple visual inspection and Pap smear will suffice.
All the best.
