What Causes Spotting With History Of Ovaries Removal?

Question: I had tubes and ovaries removed in February 2013 (related to breast cancer and subsequent recommendations). I have now had spotting about three times beginning about six weeks ago. Cramping as well. First BC at 45, second (not recurrence - new) at 50. Now 57.
Brief Answer:
Ultrasound scan required
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I read your query and I understand your concerns about bleeding now.
Though ovaries the and tubes are removed there is small amount of estrogen secreted in body through other sources.
This along with breast cancer medicines( if you are taking) builds up endometrium and lead to withdrawal bleeding.
Therefore I suggest you undergo sn ultrasound scan to check endometrial thickness.
If thickness is high you might need endometrial biopsy.
Please send me ultrasound scan report gir further advice.

Thank you. Just a shock. I had chemo induced menopause and have not had a period since 2003. I take no meds for my breast cancer since my tumours were both estrogen negative.
Brief Answer:
Ultrasound is necessary to diagnose endometrial thickening
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand the tumors were estrogen negative. But the possibility endometrial thickening exists in breast cancer survivors and is known to have spotting like this.
Hence get ultrasound scan done and let me know the report so that this endometrial thickening possibility is ruled out.
You can also visit your doctor for local examination of cervix and get examined if there is any local lesion like polyp etc... In cervix causing spotting
