What Causes Stiffness In Back And Pain In Foot?

EKG is normal and so is blood work.
Last night after coming home from the hospital,my back got very stiff and now I feel the pain down to my foot.
I know something is wrong. I can tolerate pain but this is excruciating. I can't even take a deep breath in the heart region and the pain is not getting better but progressively getting worst to the point I'm in tears.
May be undisplaced frature of rib.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I'm Dr. Sudhir Kumar,
After going through your query I concluded that you may be having undisplaced fracture of rib. Sometimes rib fractures specially undisplaced fractures are not visible on routine AP and lateral x-rays of chest. They are more clearly visible on oblique views. However second possibility is muscular and soft tissue injury of chest . However both these injuries are painful up to nearly 15 days. Treatment of these is similar i.e. rest and analgesic such as diclofenac three times a day after meals. Not much movements(walking) is advisable. However sitting and gradual deep breathing excercises is advisable. For more detail analysis CT of chest can be done. You also got your back stiff ,it may be due to muscle spasm.Due to muscle spasm there may be some pressure on sciatic nerve, causing pain down to the feet . Again treatment is rest and analgesics.Muscle relaxant such as thiocholcoside may be of use. However if pain persist for more than week then lumbar disc prolapse should be excluded by MRI.You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.
Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Wishing you good health.
Take care.

You may be devloping frozen shoulder.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back
After going through your query and follow up query I think you are having freezing shoulder which may later develop into frozen shoulder. It occurred because you was mostly in lying down position in hospital and you were doing less movements of your right shoulder. Due to this shoulder is gradually going stiff called freezing shoulder, which later may develop into full blown frozen shoulder. You are advised to start active exercises of your right shoulder, specially overhead elevation, even if they are painful. You can take analgesic for pain relief without which you may not do exercise properly. Rest of issue already discussed.
You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.
Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer.
Wishing you good health.
