Brief Answer:
This is non-specific symptom.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit very short.

Feeling of ants biting inside the stomach is very non-specific symptom and can be felt in the following cases:
-Gastritis with or without ulcers, non-specific peritonitis, anxiety and stress.

I would like to know more about any other history / symptoms/ treatment in the past / medical problems at the moment that he is taking treatment / bowel habits (loose or sticky motions or frequency or indigestion). This may add to my knowledge and thought about the possible problems.

I would suggest the following:
Start Ranitidine / PPI which is available over the counter.
Get few investigations like Blood, urine, stool - routine.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen will help to rule out any problem.

Just observe whether he has any stress / anxiety / tensions; if he has then he may need anxiolytics.

It is always better to get a physical / clinical examination done.

I hope this answer helps you and him. Please give the feedback and feel free to ask for more.
