default
Posted on Mon, 5 May 2014
Question: I am 37 and have PCOS. For the last 3 days I have been having cramps not like period cramps. They hurt more when I urinate and sometimes go down my right thigh. I am also in the process of packing and moving.

Brief Answer: DETAILS ARE GIVEN BELOW. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for writing to us. According to your information, it is mostly suggestive of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) and I suggest to undergo one routine urine examination with culture to confirm the diagnosis. TREATMENT: CIPROFLOXACIN group of drug is usually given to treat UTI. You may require urinary tract spasmolytic medicine like FLAVOXATE. Kindly, procure a complete prescription from your doctor. PREVENTIVE MEASURE: You must drink plenty of water (2.5 to 3 lit/ day), take cranberry juice (1 to 2 glass) regularly, maintain genital hygiene properly (each time before and after sex), empty bladder in time, avoid unprotected sex/ tight or wet cloths/ scented soap or perfume around genital region and wear only cotton underwear. Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query. Wish your good health and take care yourself.
