What Causes Stomach Pain After Gall Bladder Removal?
Question: Had my gallbladder removed one year ago and still have stomach pains in mid to lower section of stomach. Have went on a high protein diet to lose weight over the past 3 months. I have lost 30 lbs and yet I have developed oily and floating stools within the past several days. Should I go to the doctor and check these symptoms? Is this a result of taking in high saturated fats such as peanuts, pork skins and bacon?

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.

Yes, diet very rich in fat can cause the symptoms you have mentioned.
But sometimes it could be due to fat malabsorption. One of the common causes for fat malabsorption is chronic pancreatitis.
You can avoid diet rich in fat and see whether there is any improvement. If there are no signs of improvement even after avoiding fatty food, then get tests done to rule out chronic pancreatitis.
I hope that answers your question.
